May tends to be the most reliable weather month with no west coast midges and less traffic - there are always exceptions of course, we did get snow in May 1976 but the rest of summer made up for that

I've been trying to get stuff for a week of vessel audits in late August and the prices of what is left is eye watering. What you would class a basic hotels anywhere else can be well over 300 quid a night, if you can get them at all. Am in some glamping cabin/pod type thing one night and that was 285

I shall indeed, but it won’t be complimentary. That’s not to say those of the group that went to the bother of finding and booking accommodation didn’t do a great job, they did, it was just very difficult for them to find accommodation for a group of 6, which is what, more than anything, dictated our route. It’s just the standard of accommodation is completely at odds with the prices charged, and not in a good way.
