Roof helmets

I had one back in the early 90s lasted about 18 months before the padding and lining fell to bits.

Roof use seatbelt helmet strap fixture and not DD, i had a Shark helmet with the seatbelt bollox, i could never get it right it was either to tight or to loose. I did want to get a Roof but as soon as i found out about the strap fixture it put me off, oh and the Shark got slung in the bin, it was a a Shark Evo one 2 flip front, never again!! Just my opinion, some people do like the seatbelt set up, a matter of preference. (y)

The one I’m looking at has dd fitting…I don’t like the seatbelt type either.

I went to my neighbours for a drink on Friday and he showed me the new Schuberth C3 Pro that he'd just bought. It was really nice quality and not too heavy so might be worth a look.

What one is it? I do like the styling of them but as i said the one i wanted was seatbelt and all the other ones where, is it a new spec and Roof have woken up. :)

I like that but not in that colour, they do it in Matt Black it's the one i would go for and a hell of alot cheaper. (y)
Not carbon though.

What is matt like for cleaning insects off? I know on early matt painted cars they were a nightmare...had to clean insects and bird shit off ASAP before it stained.

I like a bright coloured lid...give as much chance of being seen.

Anyway, fuck it, I've bought it - should be here tomorrow, I'll see what it's like.

I have a Shoei X-Spirit 3 Kagayama rep that comes in matt, i have a pack of baby wipes in the garage that i use after a ride out, they do a great job cleaning the bugs and crap off. This picture does it no justice, it looks great in the flesh (i hate that saying :ROFLMAO:) i didn't know it was matt until it turned up (i had money then) very nice!

I have a Roof Daytona silver with black strap. It’s my second go-to lid that I’m wearing more and more, it has the seat belt type fastener, I like it, it works for me

My main lid is a Schuberth C3 pro
flip front in a matt bronze kinda colour
The other Roof ones I’ve seen look a little ‘Predator’ for my taste.

I clean my Matt helmets and Matt bikes with this stuff…

Good as they say - 1108g including all the stickers.
I wondered if they used sleight of hand and weigh without the visor or something, but that’s it all up.

That really is very impressive and it will be interesting to read your thoughts on it after riding. I`m currently using an Xlite that weighs 45% more so a huge difference. The only thing missing is a built in drop down tinted visor and has it got whatever the name of the thing is that sits under your chin to deflect the draught ? Lets call it an Under Chin Draught Deflector to avoid any ambiguity.

There's no drop down tinted visor which I'm not bothered about as on all my previous helmets, I've not got on with them...whilst handy for a second or two if turning into low sunlight, every one has been slightly blurry.

It comes with a tinted visor 'for racing', and a clip on UCDD. And cary bag..and carry rucksack!

It feels suitably snug, and you can tell it's light when on. Just hope it works well on the bike.

Looks like a winner in the UCDD department !

Think you've made a good choice Dox, I had a ROOF R 020 cobra, was comfortable, light and the most quiet helmet I have ever owned, plus it saved my bonce when I had my accident in17, the outer shell shattered in the impact but stayed together. I will look at getting one like yours when my carbon AGV need replacing.
