Seems cheap for a 916 at £6.5k 🤔

Not sure why he thinks running it till the fan kicks in once a year is a good thing but nice looking bike, is an import worth that money with fickle UK buyers?

Back in the day, I had one nearly identical to this (advertised on F/B) for £5500 in Congleton - mine had s/s conti's

DUCATI 500SL PANTAH 1980 ITALIAN IMPORT. A beautiful machine by any standard, Fabio Taglioni proved his genius once again with the development of the Ducati 500 SL Pantah. First registered in Italy in June 1980 this bike was beautifully restored in its home country before being imported to the UK in 2018. Has been in dry storage unused since then so the restoration has started to gather a light patina with some oxidation in places but the paintwork still looks fantastic in the original Ice Blue colour scheme.

Starts first touch of the button. Runs perfectly as shown in the Youtube video link above. The engine is sweet as a nut with no smoke, rattles or leaks. You might have noticed that the clutch is dragging slightly in the video. I think this is due to lack of use & should improve with regular use.

Now over 40 years old so is tax & MOT exempt as an historic vehicle. I have the NOVA number & there's no import duties to pay. In order to UK register the bike just needs a completed MOT exemption form along with a completed V55 form sending sending to DVLA with the Italian logbook. The registration fee is currently £55 plus 6 months road tax. I can help fill the registration forms in for the new buyer if requested.

Only 186 Km's showing on the clocks which is most likely the distance covered since the registration. The exhaust appears to be none standard & had been re-chromed but unfortunately the chroming was poor quality & had flaked off in places so we've given it a coat of silver paint but this might be something to readdress in the future. Sold unserviced without warranty hence bargain price.

Machines of the 1980 first year of production, like this example, are becoming rare and can only appreciate in value as the Ducati legend continues to grow. Becoming difficult to find even on the continent these bikes are increasing in value & make an excellent investment that can be ridden on summer days. Make no mistake this bike is priced to sell so be quick!

£38,000 to build (but he's including his time - I wonder what hourly rate he used)
