What motorhome do you have and what would you recommend buying for a 2 year tour around Europe ? ( for starters )

So let’s share the experience, moving abroad to the south of Europe is the plan, but now considering selling up and being on the road first for a few years, and then see where we wash up, all tips and experiences welcome, but specifically vehicle choice and kit to take, vehicle size is not limited as I have a class 1 driving license ......, thanks in advance for your input.

Well done.... someone actually doing what a lot of us would like to do... but are held back by something.

Definitely need to spend serious Wonga but not that much me thinks, and for a Fiat lol, would be interested to know what to expect on depreciation as they seem to hold their value, and it is going to be an automatic gearbox for sure.
 
How many are on the adventure? You and the other half?

I think the big stuff looks great, but could be impractical at times. A guy at work has a smaller type motorhome (A Fiat iirc) with a Smart car towed behind on a dolly. He swears by it as he can park up for a few days and flit about without having to pack up or drive a big vehicle around. You could of course do this with a behemouth of an RV, but would maje it even more impractical.

Have you checked out the visa situation. I think entry to Europe without a visa is limited to 90 days in 180?

Just the two of us, bit afraid of buying something too small , might be ok for few months but not sure for long periods of time, towing something doesn’t really appeal, if it has a garage we can throw some electric bicycles in it, for exploring and if around bigger cities then public transport might be the way to go, don’t intend to do too much crazy busy urban areas though.
 
If I had the money I’d seriously look at getting a good van and getting it fitted out to your spec, they cost the earth to buy finished but plenty cheaper to get the thing fitted out

a van similar to mine fitted out would not cost a fortune might not look the greatest but

You dreamt that 👀 one it's one of the few things I've held so long, I've held mine from 2008 bought it brand new I've been in the alps at - 20 and down in gargano Italy at 42 degrees I absolutely love it because I bring mountains of sports gear with me you love them or you hate them 🤷‍♂️
 
Was a Norwegian guy and his dog down near Valencia the other day, he was walking near his motor home when police seen him so stopped to question him one thing led to another they found out he had been there a longtime and said leave or be deported so no idea what the law is but was surprised he had to leave … he got a fine fir the lack of mask and overstaying so he said … he was ok as summer is in Norway now but slightly disappointed to be leaving, I told him to try get the van looking more worklike and work with it get business insurance etc

I fancy doing something like this and I'll read with interest. 🥰 I watch a lot of the Van Life type videos on YouTube and have been watching some narrowboat canal type stuff lately too.

Selling up most stuff, keeping what I want in storage and living off the pension. When I'm ready to settle, I could do so pretty quickly. (y) Unfortunatley I'm about 6 years away from being able to realise it. 🤷‍♂️

Burstner i710 it's over 9 meters with the bike rack it's only downfall is it's size but it's never stopped me getting it anywhere I wanted to!
