One piece leathers, what's your experience?

I was wondering how many use them and whether for road or just track or for both? How many use a two piece that zips together and how many use a complete one piece

Then you have the same price dilema. To cheap and you know corners will have had to be cut to get them that cheap, to expensive normally means you are paying over the odds for the name so mosts peoples ideal is a fair price for a good quality so just a few examples and as usual, comments are welcome

It’s all a bit ‘Power Ranger’ ish, the old one piece, isn’t it? Plus when you get off you end up walking around like you’ve crapped your pants.

Having said that, if I was into track days I’d have a one piece but for the road, no thsnks; two piece leathers or textile for me 👍

There great, but they shrink like mad and make my tummy stick out now,
There is something I find comforting in leathers, but with the advanced textile technology now making textiles far stronger than most leathers we would get makes the decision interesting.
Although track days still insist on leathers only. Poor leathers are far inferior to good textile.

Riding a Ducati with Ducati leathers, gloves, boots and helmet is really taking the piss too much for my liking. Looks a bit shit!
I like curry but don’t cover myself head to toe in the stuff.
Do like a nice one piece tho but nowhere to keep your fags and wallet 😂

Understated quality black two piece - 30 years old now and has been aquanited with tarmac and kerbs a few times... weighs a ton, not enough pockets, and looks a bit shabby but still works. Don't do enough track stuff to warrant anything else - and anyway I would stll get a black one.

Cost is not a precursor to quality and protection - although a lot of folks believe that it is.

This is the Australian Motocap motorcycle gear abrasion testing site - there nothing like it in the UK but the brands are the same - think twice before paying over the odds for protection - a lot of it is just good marketing.... (particularly with textiles). Use the drop down menu for "rated products" and the side menu to choose leather, textiles etc.

That's a bit of an eye opener - Draggin Jeans in Denim coming out higher than AlpineStars in Leather

Draggin jeans will have a Kevlar liner which in a lot of cases outperforms a lot of leathers - particularly the thinner leathers - the other issue might be the stitching - the leather may have given way at the seams rather than actually going through the leather which would be a fail. The seams is where a lot of bike gear fails - they use abrasion resistant materials and stitch them together with shit threads and single stitching. Always look for the jeans / leathers with proper stitching and with jeans a full kevlar lining as well - i think Bennetts did an article...... (play hold music while i search google for said article...)

In response to the title, just one word "Hilarious".

For me, a one piece is basically a cow skin.
I was accosted by the local vegan one day in the high street.

I took her leaflet as i was trying to be kind and not obviously detour round her.

“I’ll take a leaflet and read it with interest” i said.
“But i feel I’m not your target demographic, as it might have escaped your notice, but I’m wearing half a cow... have a lovely day.”

There's something about a one piece that seems to focus your mind on the job. Lost mine in the divorce...not that she took them...probably threw them out and as I was bikeless at the time, never thought about it. Never seen them since. And a jacket. And boots.

Think I'll get a one piece more for summer.

There are quite a few second hand leather places for those who either aren't sure and don't want to spend big bucks until they know a one piece works for them or simply want a better quality suit at a second hand price

This is just one example but a simple google search for your area might be something to look up

Anyhoo, i do like a one piece babygrow,

yes you can look a nob, and look like a middle aged liveried up piping bag filled with dough, but who cares.

i feel safe, and when I’ve got it on the only think I fear is needing a piss and having to try and hook by bits over the just barely lower than waist high zip.

I saw in the comic this week, a company has started to supply vegan leathers and they claim to be track approved ?
