Multistrada V4.

It’s certainly something to think about Barry,Harry,Garry...
It’ll be out of my price range though like most Ducati’s, but a new Panzer is north of £20K now! Madness.

I love my Panzer and it’s rekindled my passion for riding due to being relatively pain free to ride but I do miss power.
I’ll definitely be taking a V4 for a test ride even if it’s just for a comparison.
Does anyone know the price?

I’ve just configured a V4S with a few bits and pieces and it came to nigh on £22,500!!!
F### that!
How much is that a month over 4 years sir? Of course there will be a balloon payment of approx. £10k to fund if sir wants to keep the vehicle after that period, otherwise sir can give it back, however, there will also be a charge for that due to wear and tear including a very expensive desmo service 😁

No desmo service on the Multi V4 but they’ll find another way of bleeding you dry!

I’ve never bought a bike on PCP, but then I’ve only ever bought one bike new, however I’ve bought cars for the last 20+ years on PCP, never got stung at the end, always had some excess over the residual value to go towards a new car and, provided it was serviced in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines, never got stung as Berry suggests above one might. Even chopped an Audi in once that was due a major service at the time of return.

Trouble is WCP the bike prices are going through the roof and most people can only afford them on PCP or the like.
Something has to give as financially the world is going to be a very different place in the near future.
Affordable bikes like Enfield etc. will make more and more sense.

Well they can't afford them then. 🤔 Wait until they reach a point 2nd hand when they can pay for it or go without. Don't go down the PCP route and complain about residuals, balloon payments, being ripped off etc. Nobody forced anybody to buy one and nobody "Needs" one.

My panzer is 5 years old now, but I'd have to push the boat out to upgrade it or get some finance on it, so I don't do it. It'll do almost everything a new one will do and I paid more than a reasonable amount of money for it (to me anyway).

Rant over. 😇

44T not everyone's cup of tea but might be worth a look
Yes just watched and does look rather appealing. The rear radar sounds like a really useful tool and I never thought I'd say that!
Will have to try it but £21k is a bit of a hard one to justify.

But no Desmo! The big service is now at 37.5k miles which is a positive and with no belts/shims, should be similar price to 2 cyl desmo or less?

There are those who felt as though the 1260 was a substantial step up from the 1200 to warrant a new purchase. For those who like new and shineee, I suppose the question would be, is the V4 a big enough upstep from the 1260 to cough up for a new plaything?

I watched the YT vid in the OP over lunch and I'm now thinking hmmmm . It weighs more than the current 1260, has a few, like a very small percentage, more BHP but has less torque. Uses 20% more fuel than the old one, puts out slightly less CO and NO but a load more CO2, (and I thought we were trying to save the planet), apart from the noticeable different engine characteristics of a V4 over a V2 (and the presenter admits he LOVES V4s) and apart from the fact it's got a few shiny new electrical toys on it, it didn't make me think I must have it. First impressions and all.

That was funny - what a dick........ he was doing ok until.....comparing it to the GS. Saying it's better than a GS just because it's 170 bhp is utter bollux... frankly - bhp does not make the bike - and who would take the Multi off road - i mean Off Road - feck me most Multi riders have their bikes under blankets in the garage right now and they won't see daylight till the sun shines again in spring let alone a muddy trail...... The GS has better torque which would better serve you off road and will always be the better off road bike, but anything at 240kg + is going to have it's limits and the bikes are similar weights all but a few kg which no doubt is irrelevant if your a fat fecker right.... I like the bike - to look at - but i would think an honest review of it's likely main use - on road would be better and i think he hit the nail on the head with the down side - the 19" front won't suit it's main use on road riding, it will loose that sporty sharp turning feel on road, and making it taller is a mistake to - it puts it out of the frame for too many people - it will never be a serious ADV bike so why try to compete with the ADV market just for the sake of it by going taller - the balance they had before between sporty road and touring use was right - even so how many spent fortunes lowering that bike already...
Now a step too far for a lot of Ducati purists i think, yes it's a Ducati .... but why oh why is it trying to be a GS. It can only be good for the residual values of the outgoing models. I don't get Ducati at the moment - have they lost their way, the new Monster loosing it's identity and looking more like a Yamaha now this....

I wouldn't do this on a Multi.... but a GS / Tractor... call it as you will are made for it. (Kielder Forest 2015 on my old GS) horses for courses..... The Muti was and should be optimised for sporty on road use and laying beneath warm covers in the winter - that is why owners buy them.

Not much has been mentioned since the intial issue surrounding the v4 multi. I wonder if anyone in here bought one, had the issue and how was it resolved? Also, do you have the bike still after the fix and how has it been?
