What do I need to bring for the masher?

did you mean prerogative perogative trying to be the spelling police you understand!

That's what I got when I asked my spell checker, I was doubtful but it insisted, you must take it up with Appleworks 6:D.

Of course. All facilities are yours to use. Would you not prefer nice comfy beds (linen supplied) though as opposed to a cold, shoogly van ?.

Midgy repellent arrived today, new tyres ordered and being fitted on Monday, Bev has been in touch for my overnighter on Thursday - not long now!

We might all end up sleeping in vans if certain people sore as loudly as last year!!!;)

There's not much wrong with sleeping in the van. Many a happy night I've spent in the back of the van in a variety of locations.:D;)

Some thing else that might be useful - earplugs.

Don,t think you have to bother about skin so soft to much after this week , all the midgies have been drowned with the rain !!!.:)

I think I have just figured out where we are having dinner on Saturday night - if its where I think it is, I stayed there about 3 years ago - it is beautiful location - nice one!!

It's opposite Camus House on Loch Onich. Camus is the world's best B&B :)

I'm praying for no rain as my bike has a set of dry weather race tyres on and I have no money for a new set of road tyres...I could use my intermediates though...might not last more than 200 miles....

Oh, so its not the on the edge of the loch?

Well from my recent chat with Borderduc I was under the impression it was the Onich Hotel which backs right onto the loch. I might be wrong though. If it is the Onich Hotel then the food is alright there, the location is ace and the beer ok. I'm not familiar with the hotel you mention.

We were going to move to Oban as Jane had a job offer there but we were unable to sell the house

Think we,ll all have to pray for you !!. Just stopped raining here after a full week of non-stop monsoon down pours. It,s really starting to get to us now - 2 months of sunshine, 10 months of heavy rain with nothing between. We,re thinking of moving now becuase of it !. Hopefully though thats it cleared and it ,ll be good for the masher, fingers crossed !!.

It was even worse weather wise last August around this time and the Masher was dry on the Friday evening and Saturday (can't tell you about the Sunday as I buggered off on Saturday night).

With you about the wet weather. :rain: Told my wife I'll give it another few years but if this is the long term pattern for the UK summer... The Italian alps beckon!

I,m off to the Alps on Sunday and the forecast is 30c then dropping to about 28c !. Whoopeee !! Only down side is i have to come back !!.

Think positively now. Close your eyes and think of hazy, shimmering tarmac. Roadkill grilling nicely in the Scottish sunshine under azure skies as the Desmo Clan advances to attack the midgie scourges...aye... Doesn't that sound better than the Midgie Splasher :rain: (which we had in the second half of the 2005 Masher - boy, was that wet ! )

Rain or shine, boys and girls, we'll have an excellent weekend. This time next week we'll there...!!

Another question!

Right, I'm packing - and I want to travel light!

Clothes.........will the midgy masher t-shirts be available whilst we are there - as in - one less t-shirt for me to bring????

Karen,

Remember you don't need to bring a sleeping bag as all bed linen is supplied. Masher T-shirts will be at Glencoe for collection.

Well I'm installed at Bev's now and have met the cats and pony, looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night and hopefully hooking up with people en-route during the day.

Please ensure the sun is shining for the next few days
