There’s an opportunity to buy a 749S, yellow, Mono, at a knock down price of £3k because it has a ‘few electrical issues’. The main one of which (the others are really minor) is the fact the speedo reading is erratic or non-existent, ie it either jumps around or reads 0.

Allegedly the speed sensor (first obvious culprit) has been changed but the issue persists, leading the owner to believe it could be an issue with the dash display circuitry.

I know the dash/instrument unit, ecu and keys are all coded to each other so it’s not as simple as changing the dash out as all 3 units need to be kept in sync or else there’ll be issues with the immobiliser.

Has anyone with a 749/999 had a similar issue? What’s the collective mind/thoughts on this?

TIA

@Nelly?

any help?
Useful link that Mark👍, thank you.
Thanks. I suspect it’s a wiring issue in the loom rather than an issue on the pcb within the dash but you never know and that’s the risk here.

Paul, this bloke who owns a bike shop and is palming off his overspill to you, is he selling the shop soon :unsure:
No, and I wouldn’t want it, heaven forbid, Id have to commute to work then 😱, 20 minutes along the Wild Atlantic Way. No, thank you, I’m quite happy with the 1 minute walk commute to my shed 👍
Never heard of them Ron, but thanks for the pointer, although the map shows them to be in Limerick City (despite saying Cork in Vymaps) and the linked FB page is Facebook.com/westcorkwomensmotorcyclists which is no longer a valid page.
