Selling our much cherished 1970 Porsche 911 T which we’ve owned since Nov 13’. The car has recently been on for sale with a dealer at a premium so I’ll borrow their insights for a discounted (and hopefully quick) sale here. Mileage shows at 57,786 and, though that cannot be verified, we have done less than 5,000 miles in our 9 year ownership. She’s garaged when not in use. Overview: Built for the 1970 model year, this classic 911 T has its original sweet at six 2,200cc engine on carburettors and a dogleg 5-speed transmission. It is lively, willing and fun...and sounds great when you are on the open road. It is not a restoration and all the better because of it. So rare to see one that remains authentic to the original. It tells its own story of being loved. History: Records indicate that this 911 was delivered new in January 1970 to a Mr Kingsbury, living in Texas. In 1986, it changed hands and moved to Arizona. Eventually arriving in the UK in November 2013 and remaining with the same owner since importation. Bodywork/paint: The bodywork presents really nicely, having received a quality glass out repaint to its original shade of Pastel blue circa 2014. Pastel blue (code 321) is one of the most rarely seen shades. You can see neat panel gaps; with no evidence of any being changed, corroded or damaged. We think it still has the original doors, original panels, sills and jacking points. This 911 has clearly benefitted from a good environment and is very impressive for a 1970 Porsche. The brightwork appears original and remains in good condition and, as per the original spec, this car has tinted windows. Interior and dash: This is not a restored 911 with all new trim. Therefore there is ageing to the interior which we think gives authenticity and a classic patina, displaying the story of how well this 911 has survived. The interior is largely original, Barley coloured seats and matching carpets along with period cocoa mats. The dash is particularly nice with original instruments and most likely the original push-button radio and additional FM converter (don’t expect much from the music!). Door cards are lovely in the tex material, whilst the front door pockets are present, the rears are missing. The steering wheel is the original type with a leatherette cover. Wheels and tyres: It is wearing the original Fuchs wheels that remain in good condition, fitted with Michelin tyres with plenty of tread. The spare wheel is also a Fuchs. Specification/Equipment: The engine and transmission numbers match the Certicate of Authenticity documentation from Porsche. Also listed on the COA are the options: Antenna, radio and centre loudspeaker along with tinted glass and comfort equipment. This 911 has the 2.2 on carburettors. It feels lively and willing. It runs sweetly and performed well on test, with no undue noises or worries. It shows normal oil pressure and starts easily. The 5-speed dogleg gearbox is smooth up and down the gears and on test, functioned normally. The suspension, steering and brakes are a delight, light to the touch and responsive. Underneath, this 911 appears authentic, with no glaring issues. It comes with: Original drivers handbook, along with maintenance records dating back to the 1980’s. Certificate of Authenticity which matches engine and transmission numbers, colour and specification. Please note: Classic cars are very varied in condition, we have done our best to provide some guidance as to what we feel and see with this example. No cars are perfect, least of all classic cars. Some wear or faults should be anticipated. One buyer’s ‘average’ is another buyer’s ‘amazing’. We want you to be happy with your purchase. Our opinion is subjective, and therefore we welcome inspection prior to purchase. We condition group our classics and whilst our grouping is subjective we categorise this as a strong driver’s car, a category 3+ (out of 5).
