Just got quote for Mich HP Primacy 225/50/R17 94Y at £186 each fully fitted. I need 2 now and another 2 shortly but would buy 4 now and get them fitted as I go. Still just under £800! Audi fitment Contis are going to be £600.
I am allergic to ditchfinders but anyone heard of Altenzo Tyres. Oz brand with German engineering, one direct UK importer so "tyres are cheaper than they should be, just wait to they get established...". They are A rated for wear and traction under next years Tyre Regs and just £100 each corner?
Also Audi recommends Y rating for a diesel estate which is, I think, good for 230km max speed! Perhaps driven off the end of a large cliff? Y rating is more expensive than say H? Can I safely trade down ratings?
