Never had to replace anything from my Halfords set and it’s about 25 years old and had plenty of use over the yearsyou hear a lot of people praise snap on replacement policy, if the tools are as good as they are meant to be
how come so many people use the replacement policy
But the warranty is just as good by the (very few 
) accounts on line.

Have a look at the SGS stuff - good quality and service...
Got some Britool imperial spanners, top quality
They have an eBay shop for courier damaged and second hand. Not much of a saving.
I've made a few offers, if not I'll buy new.
I don't mind a few dinks and dents, but I don't want a tool box so ugly it looks like Zhed had it built.

I've spent a few hours on this now and it appears that SGS are just a badge and identical to several other middle to lower end brands.
SGS have zero stock of anything I want or want to sell courier damaged (and I mean damaged) stock for 10% off.
Halfords professional isn't right for me either.
Just purchased a lovely little tool trolley...
Not the cheapest, but it ticked all my boxes.

I like the jps colours of old and being a tart whilst working on the lorries, I used one of the vat free machine mart days to buy a Base tool box and upper unit . I expect ridicule
Used plenty of heavy kit, mostly air tools, large socket sets, etc etc. and worked perfectly fine but the super size snap ons do look nice

Yes some are.
There still is significant differences.
Build quality, design, finish together with practical considerations like 4 floating, but lockable wheels and suspension.
We've currently two Halfords 5' tall by 26" that are at least 30 years old and seen better days.
Carpenters and two chests of AC related tools are in another place.... I want to bring them together.
I suspect this will be my final investment in tool storage, so I'm still mulling. ..
And with the right stickers.... bragging rights.

Further they are quite expensive on a "like for like" basis on the cheaper stuff, so I suspect the same is true at the top end.
According to staff no sales expected anytime soon.

I never got this tool branding shit at all, my gear is battery dewalt its alrite but nothing great I've a couple of subbys who work for me and all buy festool and the shit is no better and bonkers money even though its made in China my tools are for making me a few quid I could care less what other Tradesmen think of them but some lads are tool junkies so I suppose it's there cocaine?

The issue is the specification and build quality.
Did you find out who else sells the same tool chests where the Snap-on range is made, because I haven't.
Nor do I really want to spend more than two bags of sand meeting my requirement, with Snap-on that would be about £25K.
There is a lot of barely adequate shite out there.
