As a young man I used to spend all week earning money, to spend it all on parts (and my time) at the weekend to keep my banger on the road....With recent bad news on income I'm hoping for something in the under a grand stakesI love bangernomics
Rinse and repeat each week for years....
First a Robin Reliant (FFS Oxymoron that model name), then a Cortina followed by a Capri..... luckily company cars after that until my Lister.

I've been looking at new vans - Transporter, then I thought what about a Caravelle? I could
a) remove the seats to get a bike in on the few times it might be needed
b) it's plusher than a van, and
c) in an attempt to sell the idea to Mrs P I could inform her we can use it to travel around Europe (when we can) and keep ourselves to ourselves away from any covid infected others and stop for a nicecup of tea looking out over a beautiful view and, should it be raining, shelter inside, AND, even sleep in it the odd night - being romantic and all that stuff.
I thought it was a great plan until......
I downloaded the brochure and worked out the one I'd want is €85,000
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Don’t see me going back to a car for a long time..... I just love driving the transit!! Cheap on fuel, cheap insurance even though it’s commercial policy, drives like a car, love the view.... and it’s so useful, took the bulkhead out and insulated the back with stick on foam and rockwool behind the lining and sticky foam on the roof, side window fitted too, ply base and rubber floor so she’s quiet to drive. SWIMBO loves it too ..
