Today my son picked me up and i went over to his house to see my Granddaughter, she's called Penelope. So good to see, i didn't want to go over to see her straight away so gave them some time to let thing's settle down.:) They said they were overwhelmed at first and they have plenty of support if needed.(y)

Wonderful , what a great photo Wayne, proud granddad moment👍

Stayed at a mates last night, he's away in Europe somewhere towing a caravan behind a skoda, making his way to Morocco? Or some such.. anyhu i digress..
He had unplugged his fidge for obvious reasons. What not so obvious is why he left it full of food...
I opened it to see if it was on to put beer in there and was greeted with a more the slightly putrid stench.
There was a bag of what I think were once hot cross buns. They were black but had maintained there shape, however, when picking em up they were actually liquefied..
They contents of the half full teapot had turned to a jelly like substance and the salad bowl had fossilized imprints of lettuce leave on it..
Fun..
Went to a mates party at another mates bar. Couple of cool cars there. The mustang doing the burn out belongs to a mate as does the Trans am. The Trans am is a 454 putting out about 550 bhp. That does a good burn out also..

There is a guy that lives 3 doors down from my son with a plymouth fury in black!!

Nz has a large amount of American muscle cars, hot rods and vintage. It's pretty cool, loads of Lil cars shows and some rather big ones through summer.
I'm not a big petrol head but we visit the local ones and most are free and have a good vibe..
I have allways liked the Dodge Challenger, the Vanishing Point car, not a car guy but.................

Think I killed my lawnmower today. I put it upside down to clean the crud out of it and when
I turned it over it now won’t start and the pull
Chord thing just thuds solid, Oil is running out the exhaust. Suggestions please or have I killed it? Xx
Leave it upright for a bit. Check the air filter hasn't now got oil in it, had that before. Check it still has fuel in it. Pull spare plug and give it a clean if oily. Other than that ive no ideas but I wouldn't think permanent damage would be done by having it upside down.

Leave it the rite way up and hopefully the oil will drain into the bottom of the engine.. change the plug... you might get away with it .. FYI FFS don't turn the Ferrari or R8 upside down to clean the bottom of them 👀

Thanks for the suggestions. I will leave it overnight then take the sparking plug out plus air filter tomorrow and hope that fixes it as I have a half mown lawn at the moment xx
Yay, girl power!
Check the oil level is still OK
The oil will have run up the dip stick and show as being over full? Am I right? Yay, me!

When you take the plug out pull the starter a few times to expell what oil's left in the bore or you'll have a job to start it even when it's been left standing. You can't pull it now because the bore is full of oil. It'll be a sidevalve engine and that's what happens when you turn them upside down. It'll smoke like fuck when it does go because there'll be loads of oil in the exhausts system too. Expect a massive cloud of smoke. When it's burnt the oil off, stop it and let it settle and then as Barry says, check the oil level. It'll have lost loads.

If you need to turn a side valve lawn mower over, tip it onto its side, never on its nose or tail or fully upside down. As the name says, the valves are to the side of the cylinder, not above it, so when you tip it over pick the side that will leave the valves uppermost, not underneath, and the oil won't flood the engine. And as the carb will be on the same side as the valves it shouldn't piss petrol everywhere either. At least not much. So on it's side so that carb and air filter is uppermost and exhaust down.
My lawnmower will drain oil into the bore if I just tip it backwards onto its handlebar. They're not supposed to but mine does. Notmuch but enough for a cloud of smoke when restarting.
