Stupid Top Box issue. Help!

Got a silly issue, my Multi is a touring that came with panniers. So the key fits all.

I have a spare barrel with the bike, I have since bought a top box and thought 'great, when it comes I'll just fit my barrel'... Wrong.

The hole that the barrel goes through is far too big and looking at it requires a sleeve to fit into. SO done some digging and yes, it requires a sleeve when the barrel goes in and the wafers slide in. Marvellous.

Anyone help me out please? - I read that the sleeve from the under seat lock will fit so apart from buying an under seat locking unit, I'm a little stumped.... Any ideas folks?

Appreciated.

Kinda like this -

To fit in here - I have all the rest of the fittings.

So you're looking for the black plastic tube with a top hat, as in your first photo?

And, yes, that's a GIVI handle you photo'd so you could try them for spare parts.

I've a box of spare bits and pieces came with an ST4S I bought where the previous owner tried to get a one key fits all approach across his bought at different times luggage, I'll have a rummage through and see if there's anything in there, can't promise mind.

Alan, I too had a go at putting the spare Ducati barrel in a Givi case, gave up (just carry the Givi key) as it's not compatible without specific parts which are unavailable to joe pubic.
Even though Givi make the cases for Ducati, they make sure you have to spend 500 knicker for your Ducati barrel to fit!

It's so stupid, such a small part - like a couple of quids worth has totally stumped me!

It is a pain in the arse, Ducati make a fortune from their accessory range, they'll be making sure it stays that way!
Hi Alan @MrACD, I had a look but I’ve no outlets just 3 key barrels and 2 keys, sorry.

As Bob says Ducati spec things their way🙁. I have a Ducati by Dainese textile D-Dry jacket, had it for ages. I bought some Dainese D-Dry trousers via mail order to go with them at a later date, would the zips match up? No way. The Dainese zip on the trousers has 15 teeth/inch, the Ducati by Dainese zip in the jacket has 16 teeth/inch - the feckers 😡. Fortunately the trousers came with both parts of the zip and Mrs P stitched the other half of the trouser zip into the jacket which now has 2 zips - ha! that’ll show ‘em 👊🏼

I NEVER fasten my jacket and pants together ... you never know when you may need an urgent short warning dump..... struggling with extra zips could mean heavy pants ;)
