Well yeah, in many ways the ST was indeed the best bike, at least the ST4S was.
996 engine, full ohlins set up, comfy seat, and capable of carrying both a pillion and luggage
I loved mine for the 6 years I had it (04 4S ABS in Senna Grey), but when I test rode the Multi 1200 and then got back on the ST, it felt like someone had stolen one of my cylinders.
If only they had put the MTS engine into an ST style bike. I live in hope they might do it one day...
I sometimes wish I hadn't sold my bike. Its still out there as its sorn'd, but hasnt been mot'd for 3 years.
I might even be tempted to buy it back if the opportunity arose
