Remember to cancel your insurance when you sell the bike

...and his reaction is to warn others so that they don't get caught in the same (mad) trap; The sort of guy you'd want as a friend.

Isn't there an insurance ombudsman to help/step in on matters like this?
 
Now I'm cynical by nature I admit that. Theres an important detail missing from this story.There has to be otherwise this would happen all the time and we would have heard about it before.
 
Something not right here....You cant give permission for someone to ride your bike on your insurance unless you have a dealer policy and the guy signs it before riding.
As i say it makes good headlines but there is more to it than someone simply selling their insurance policy with the bike unwittingly. Next time you are stopped try telling the copper you are simply riding on the previous owners insurance :)

Turns out that when it's the insurance company who are going to be out of pocket, you've given the world permission to ride your bike in the eyes of the law :eek:
 
Agreed :( looks like a good case for riders policy's where you insure the rider irrespective of the bike. that way the bike never has a policy left running on it.

Will we all need green cards to ride over the border next month :)
 
So, in the first instance the bike was ridden by an 'uninsured' and banned rider and had a new owner and being kept at a new location.

I thought (normally, unless money is involved) lack of a driving licence automatically revoked any insurance.

It all stinks really. Another black mark for MCE even if other insurance companies might have done the same.

I also thought part of our insurance premiums went to an uninsured claims fund?
