"Peanut" SL125, 1972/3 rebuild

Right, so I am building wheels, got one fabbed up but

yet to straighten. Pretty easy to get it to this stage! I dont have a wheel balancing stand so will do on the bike...

Hmmmm..in the bottom pic the top half of the wheel looks bigger than the bottom half...
Did you try rotating it as you went?
Nah, the bearings are fucked! It was just a photo opportunity really...😬
You can use felts too like a sharpie so where it touches when out of true, it marks it for you
I used bits of masking tape. It flipflopped pretty easily from one side to the other initially

Right so not a lot to see but Peanut is a rolling chassis now albeit with a rooted pair of forks as I am struggling to find useale bits at the mo. Grandad is on the bench waiting for brake shoes and dry paint! I have a pair of xl125 forks to fit which are nearly identical. Only a purist would know...

Nice one CAT! Do you have fond memories or was it a symphony of bland? I am looking forward to having a ride to be honest! I am expecting it to be very dated...with the front wheel in and the axle tightened but only the bottom fork yoke pinch bolts tight, the flex when you wiggle the bars is horrendous!

What the hell is up with that guard? Have they put the struts on in reversed positions?
and, that is surely a little honda motor?
