I'm not sure this is wise but here goes. Since I disappeared off the radar a couple of years ago my stable has undergone a few changes.
This went:

And turned into one of these (yes I know, but I've heard them all before so keep it buttoned. And no smirking at the back please):

But the atrocious riding position was killing my back so that went as well and become this:

This is still here and probably always will be:

And of course, the 1098 SF has returned.
Right, that's it. Go back to whatever you were doing.

The Rocket is in Northumberland looking towards Ovington.
The Katoomer is in bonnie Scotland on the way to the Applecross peninsular back in 2018.
I do get over to Cumbria a lot. Devils bridge has been a favourite haunt but it's got very busy lately and the idiot count seems to have gone up sharply.
Great ride over there from my place though, across the Pennines and through Sedburgh and the Westmorland Dales. I will have to take the SF over there next year.
The Pennines roads are epic but right bumpy. That was one of the reasons I parted ways with the Superduke. I got fed up with being kicked out of the saddle and feeling the thing wriggling about under me like a squirming fish.
The SF will be better on these roads. It has factory Ohlins rear and K-tec cartridges up front. It's much more composed than the SDR. I look forward to a little time trial up Hartside Pass. My personal best so far was set on the 1190. I reckon the SF should beat it, assuming I haven't turned into an old fart since I last rode it in anger.
Deffo have a meet up, a brew and kick some tyres. I'm just the other side of Weardale. Alston is about half an hour away. The back roads through Hexhamshire between Alston and Hexham/Haydon Bridge are regulars too for short rides. Those are my go to roads - Shap - Hartside - Alston - Middleton in Teesdale - then cut back through Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale. We'll have to have a meet up when spring comes around.

If the weather is nice in May I sometimes venture into the Lakes before the tourists fill it up.
I often go the other direction and head up through Northumberland national park and Kielder into the borders. Had the A68 up and over Carter Bar all to myself the other weekend. It was epic on the Rocket. Then went through Boncester Bridge and Hawick and along the A7 to Brampton. That was pretty deserted as well.
Shout out to @Robarano as well. I often get out to Rothbury on a Sunday morning. That's near his neck of the woods. Maybe get a brew in this year before the gritter lorries come out in force.

Will do. I'll probably head up there this Sunday morning. Weather looks dry. Chilly but sunny. Will see what the weather's doing by the weekend.Give me a shout Jim @Gimlet if you are heading up there and I'll meet you for a brew, I forgot to SORN the Tuono, so it's taxed for Oct.
After this I usually get out in anger around April again.
