ND (Nippon Denso) speedo parts

I'm looking for parts for an ND speedo and rev counter, they were fitted to 70's and 80's Ducati's and many Honda models. Does anyone know of any places that carry parts for them?
 
Michael, I know I'm always going about them but Baines have loads of new and second hand parts for every conceivable Duc, it's worth a try mate.
 
The usual old Duke suspects I would have thought. Baines certainly, John Fallon at www.mdinaitalia.co.uk lists cables for them and tends to have lots of secondhand bits lying around and very helpful. Tony Brancato probably worth a call. They tend to come up on fleabay on a fairly regular basis. If you are still drawing a blank after that let me know and I'll make some phone calls for you.

I'm talking to him about dials for the Monty, they do not have the Laverda logo and red line is different. i was bidding on a new pair on ebay italy last week , seeing the price of the clocks here i should really have bid more on them :(

i've now got instructions for stripping the clocks if anyone else needs them :)

yeah, the site lacks a search facility and i had to hunt by models i though might have them 400F1/F2, CB750K series and possibly 500/550 F as well, rev counter is about the same price as a Ducati one a load cheaper than a laverda one but all i want are the cases really and no-one lists them :(

Ah the joys of ebay :rolleyes: Just set up a bidnap and resist the temptation to pay silly money. Mind you Monty stuff will be in short supply.

Don't get too hung up on new clocks 'cos they might be siezed because of their age. I've bought quite a few 60mm smiths ones at shows (used on small bore brit stuff and late Ducati singles) and some on display were rock solid.

Have you asked Andy @ Italian Motorcycle Engineering who he uses?
 
I've got a sniper which is useful but I should have bid more on those clocks , I was bidding live and stopped myself going higher even though I knew how rare they were, £300 each from UK Laverda suppliers!! same clock with Ducati logos is about £160 ish , Honda ones similar but usually the trip meter reset exists from side not under case and I'd need to dremel them open to put Laverda faces in :(

Function isn't critical its the look, both of them have been hand painted and 1 has a small dent, I'm going to split them and repaint if I can't find better cases for them.

Why do I suffer from OCD ? :)
 
Michael, theres a guy in Keighley whos really useful to know for speedos/rev counters/clocks etc. He will not have any of the actual units you need but is superb at repair and recalibration of all types of instrument. I will dig his number out for you. He did some work on some old Jaguar/smiths instruments for me years back. Was very cheap as well as he worked from a spare room in his house. He repaired a smiths time clock for me from my 60s Jaguar, he placed some kind of solid state conversion in it that stopped the points burning out (the clocks never worked for more than a year or 2 from new!) He charged me £20! I had been quoted £70 from a Jag specialist. While I was there I noticed some boxes full of the same items with the same specialists address on, they were making £50 on each one just by posting em up to him.

I know another lad who sent him an old chronometric speedo that noone else could fix/calibrate. He had it back as new within a week.
