MotoGP star rookie Marc Marquez has been diagnosed with a small fracture in his shoulder after further medical checks on Saturday morning at Mugello.

Marquez lost control of his Repsol Honda at 320km/h (199mph) and was still travelling at 280km/h (174mph) when he was forced to jump off to avoid hitting a wall.

“Marc has a small fracture in his shoulder and his chin is still heavily swollen. However, he will try to ride [in Saturday morning practice] to understand his ability,” read a Tweet from Repsol Honda.

PS: can I just ask that we discuss the racing weekend in here and not turn it into a Rossi slanging post.

3 crashes including a 174mph get off and he still qualifies 6th! What a guy :D

Dovi overcame an injured neck to wrestle that Duc onto the front row of the grid in the dry again. And Cal managed 4th with his still broken leg!

I'm sure that will happen very soon if he keeps on putting in great performances like the last two races. We'd be spoilt for choice in MotoGP then, almost (but not quite) like being Spanish! :lol2:

Another fantastic performance from Cal today - 2nd Yahama and 3rd in the race. :cool: The boy Marquez was pretty impressive too, even if he did crash! Starting from 6th and working your way up to 2nd with fractured bones, swelling all over and the memory of 3 crashes must take some doing, certainly the future (if not the present) of MotoGP...
 
Pity he crashed or he would have been out on his own as the first rookie to achieve five podiums in his first five Grand Prix's. great result for Cal coming third.
 
Well what can I say....... Bummer ...........for me anyway :ohwell:

Anyhoo great race for Jorge and Danni and felt so sorry for wee Marquez, but found it so funny when he crashed ( and i saw he was ok i must add ) not funny that he crashed but when he was lying flat on his back and lifted his head and saw the bike was trashed he put his head back down and threw a hissy fit. Would have loved sound there to hear what the poor lad was calling himself.
Pity because I would like to have seen him win.
I do think Scott Redding would have been better in the Motogp this year than Bradley though.
