I know this is getting away from the Match of the Day topic and apologies as I have mentioned this before.
My company supplies goods to the Home Office specifically for both legal and illegal immigrants . There are relatively few families or women and children and an awful lot of single young men.
As soon as they arrive we drop our trousers and let them start to shaft us by imposing their views on what goods may be acceptable to give them. For example they have been known to refuse some items because they don`t like the colour of the item. Items paid for by the tax payer and given to them free of charge.
As well as providing goods , for a couple of years we also provided 3rd party logistics and packaged other goods for the immigrants . This included kitchen items such as cookware and cutlery. Also included were very large kitchen knives. You may remember during lockdown an immigrant stabbed multiple victims in Glasgow. I gather the knife used was one that had been through my warehouse and packed by my staff. Obviously a very tenuous link but it was surprisingly upsetting at the time.
Despite what some people will tell you a lot of these immigrants are not good people and don`t have our best interests at heart.
Regardless of that I`m all for helping the needy and glad that as a country we do help so many but at the same time let`s make sure we are also looking after ourselves and not a soft touch to be fleeced at every opportunity. When in Rome etc.
