think lil might have one, or you could possibly try a company called bain clarkson (though they might have changed their name by now) as they used to do them.Paul748 said:Spoke with my existing broker/insurance company and they don't want to insure the bike with no lights etc. They also advised that they couldn't find an insurance company who do.
Anyone insured on the road with a day time MOT?
Paul748 said:Cheer, just spoke with good ol Carole Nash who will do it through E.Red Star with a day time MOT noted at a rip off price of £281 TPFT. Which is twice what I pay for comp currently. Doh

Biggest problem nowadays with all motor insurance is that the whole operation is computer driven by people working in call centres. This results in "standard" risks meeting the criteria to quote and rejecting anything slightly out of the norm. Hence problems with any modified vehicle. In the past everything was done manually by someone who had an interest in their job and would make the effort to assess the risk and come up with a quote. Now it is just an automatic "decline" for many companies because they are not willing to invest in the resouces required to deal with this situation. Name of the game is drive the overheads lower by moving operations to India etc. Motor insurance is seen by Insurers as too much work for too little return and chances of it changing in the short term is as likely as Loris phoning me asking if I fancy a blast on his Moto GP bike! The only thing that will change the Insurers minds are if they stop making a profit. In the meantime as long as the public support internet Insurers and Quote me ecstatic etc who don't require the technical expertise there is not a snowballs chance of them wanting to even think about looking at "unusual" risks. Norwich Union (NOT the "direct" wing- quoteme happy) are one of the few companies that have a "special vehicle division" and will actually come up with a quote 95% of the time. The intervention of the government in the guise of the FSA has actually made things worse. From January 2005 a raft of legislation was imposed on general insurance which has resulted in huge increases of paperwork, a lot of which is sent to you! You are all too stupid and everything needs to be explained to you 6 times before the penny drops, according to the FSA, so this has pushed Insurers even more in streamlining the business they will now take on. In the meantime my advice is find someone who genuinely cares about your problem. Phone about and if your initial reaction is that the person on the other end of the line doesn't know or care, you are probably dead right!Paul748 said:Spoke with my existing broker/insurance company and they don't want to insure the bike with no lights etc. They also advised that they couldn't find an insurance company who do.
