Donington 12/5/07

It was good fun,the sun stayed out till the very last session which was a bonus cos the run down was boggin.Took the proddy R1 and K71000 out and had a shot on the open K7 with it's big Brembo's and trick bits all very agreeable. I Was a bit scared of Craner curves before I got there but it was actually pretty good fun and I thought the Melbourne loop was fantastic with Goddards being ideal for me as there are a million different lines and I didn't use the same one twice.
Only prob was the 98db limit(no complaints as I knew it was a queit day)but we had the K7's tested at Croft 2 weeks ago @ 95db and they black flagged me for being over the limit but wouldn't test it to show it was over,I knew the R1 and Gsxr600 were over so put baffles in but if I were cynical I would have thought the guy doing the baffles @£25 a pop was giving the guys doing the pulling a bung to bring more in!!
Anyway,track was good,facilities were good,Garage/power for the truck etc so all in all a very enjoyable day(wish I had taken the Monster too though)..

Most days at Donington seem to be quiet ones , there are some vociferous rich knobs who live close to the circuit who give the circuit a hard time over this. Strange they dont make the same fuss about the airport on their doorstep
We've got DB killers for our bikes which were OK the last time we were there.
Are the pit garages any better?, they were being redone the last time and we all had to use the melbourne loop as our pit area ,as jamie whitham said at the briefing ' the weathers good but its pretty much @@@@ after that!'

and apparantly the bumpy bit at macleans has been flattened out,is that right? smooth as a table now?

The garages are all sorted and the track is as smooth as the top of your nut!The only thing they could improve is spectator areas....oh and my riding skills of course!!!!apex?what apex?????
