Digital Speedo on Multi

All my digital readouts on the speedo display on my Multistrada 1000ds have gone kaput, phut, phut after a serious downpour. Does anyone know whether or not they will see life again after drying out ? There's too many of them Gatso things around here to keep guessing. I know in second gear at 3000rpm I'm doing 30mph but I don't know the revs at other speeds for other gears.

Winston try taking the speedo off, have a wee look for water, maybe a little hair dryer action then plug it all back in, it happened to me before & this solved it.

Thanks. I'll take it off tomorrow and give it the blow job with the wife's hairdryer. I'll have to be careful with the setting mind you as it blows like a hurricane and is hot enough to give you sunburn. Hmmmmm I could do it in the nude and enjoy myself at the same time.

trying to put that picture out of my mind. When you put it back together it is sometimes worth putting one of those little silicone pouches in the back as it will attract any further water ingress

Might it also be worth trying to stop the water getting in in the first place, with some carefully applied RTV maybe?
I read from US forums that these digital displays seem to pack up quite frequently.

The 749/999 clocks are similar Ian but not quite the same, there's a rubber seal between the front and back of the clocks and the two halves are held together by push fit clips quite easy to disassemble on the 999 anyway, you could do that and dry them out and see if that corrects things, but I'm sure clocks have been replaced under warranty on Multi's for some time due to condensation issues etc.
