Cleaning the inside of a metal fuel tank from rust

I've never had the need to do this myself but I know some of you have mentioned that you have. Just a general video and any comments welcome

My mate had great result from neat apple cider vinegar leaving it in for a day that electrikery is witchcraft

Molasses. Apparently. I wouldnt do it tho.
if you can get all the rusty clumps gone then the rust treatment and subsequent tank slosh has to be the best result surely?
I have done the rust treatment before with a selection of nuts and bolts and gravel to shake about in there. You just need to be fussy about cleaning it out afterwards…have used POR15, but not on a bike I have kept, so cant comment on the long term durability

Molasses and water, leave it to brew for a couple of weeks. Works great, I’ve done this on a few fuel tanks. It’s the way Allan Millard cleans fuel tanks from rust.

1 litre of molasses and the rest water, mix it up and fill up the tank Then just leave it alone for a couple of weeks, it goes a bit frothy and stinks but works great.

And then how do you treat the inside surfaces? Or does the mollasses form a protection?
