top tip...tyre warmers have a thermostat in them so if you leave the thermostat at the height you have left it only part of the tyre gets really warm as heat rises....
.....by putting the thermostat to the bottom its at the lowest point so the thermostat gets hot last!......just common sense really....

Can't find a reference to that "common sense" ... want to cite some reputable sources to back it up?
