'01 750SS ie clutch slave change

I recently picked up a Powerstands 30mm slave cyclinder for my 750. Though the part number (and tech support) say it should fit, it's too long in the area where the shaft seal is and the attachment flange won't seat all the way to the case when the bolts are tightened. Seems the cylinder is too long where it goes against the shaft seal. When I measure the OEM, there is .220" past the bolt flange. The Power slave is .315" from the flange. I thought models from 99-02 were basically (and the part number on the PSR slave is supposed to work) the same but this seems to be different. Any idea which variety slave I should get? I thought I might try an Oberon 29mm but I'm not sure which year will fit. Could this have been a left over '99 motor? They changed the slave apparently in 2000 because the older ones need a short extender on the shaft which comes in the PSR kit.

You’re 2.43mm out (for us this side of the pond) could you not put washers on the bolts to enable you to torque them? The face of the cylinder will then be secured against its mating face in the crankcase.

However, I’d also want to know the depth in the internal shaft of the new slave, from face to piston inside. You don’t want to find it’s longer than OEM thus leaving your pushrod short, this happens on many bikes where an Oberon is fitted and Oberon supply a small spacer or ball bearing to make up the length.

Yea I could washer it up, if I hadn't been an aircraft mechanic for over 40 years and spent the last 12 years as a Senior Airworthiness Inspector on corporate jets! LOL It just "rubs me wrong"!
The PSR also comes with a spacer for the shaft but I think it's the company's job to figure all that out if they sell a product before it goes to market. I just need to know why mine seems different. The shaft spacer provided is suppost to be for pre 2K models. Apparently, they changed the design then. Mines an '01 and it wouldn't make a difference in this case it seems to me. The case doesn't mount correctly. I think it's more likely PSR is just trying to cover more model years and didn't do their homework..

I understand your frustration, and in reality why should you have to 'bodge' something. You could return it perhaps and try an Oberon?

Yes, this one will be returned tomorrow when the shop opens. Still not sure which Oberon, STM, etc will be the correct version though....

Looks like they only have the one variant for all Ducati models from that era, CLU-0016

But give them a call, I'm sure they'll be able to advise.

Thanks for the info. Wish they had left the dimensions on the drawing... Just "eye ballin' it" this looks like a shorter distance after the mount flange. I will give them a call though.
