Anybody used them?

My mother wants a new car (a couple of years old). I'm thinking about a Fiat 500 as she can only really handle a small car these days. Big national dealers like this will basically drop off a car to your door with a 14 day money back guarantee, and they look to have some decent cars in stock.

As somebody who's always bought my own cars and bikes, looking over them myself, it does seem a little alien. Although I bought the Tuono sight unseen, delivered, and it's mint.

They are fine to buy from , lots of choice, however if you have a warranty problem then problems start, the after sales of those big nationals is very bad on average.

I've ended up buying her one from a main Nissan dealer in the Midlands this morning. (y) 2 years old with 11,000 miles on it.

Looks a nice thing with all the bits a 77yr old granny needs when she's out cruising with her bitches. 🥴

In the early 70's, I had the 500 estate and my sister invited me, the missus and our first born son [he was about a month old] to stay the weekend with her family at Sittingbourne. Load up with all the baby gear ,cot, baby stuff and our stuff and hit the road from Bermondsey to Sittingbourne. Hammering down the A2/M2 , flat out downhill over the Medway Bridge and started overtaking a fully laden 40 footer artic on the bridge. All was well and I got alongside at about level with the cab just as we started going uphill heading for junction 3 [Bluebell hill turnoff] as which point I realised that the bloody car was flat out and not going to make it past the artic. My wife started to panic a bit as all she could see looking out of her window was the yellow wheel nuts of the front wheels spinning menacingly like the scythes on Boudicca's chariot wheels. She starts hollering for me to get past, I'm hollering back that I can't when I hears a loud blast on the lorry horns. I look up through the open sun roof to see the arctic driver grinning and motioning me to pull in front of him as he braked and then let me in... then the bugger dropped a gear and clogged it and his turbo kicked in and he passed me, fully loaded, up the rise like two of dripping. When we arrived at my sister's place my wife said ,get rid of this thing.. NOW!!!

The little 500 gets delivered on Tuesday. I've booked a holiday in at work and I'm going to take my mother out for her lunch in Northumberland and let her drive the car back to get used to it. (y)

She's not driven for about 8 months due to me handing a company car I had for her, back as she went over the age limit for insurance. Then she had a couple of cataract operations, so it's been a tough year. I spoke to her last night and she's excited to get her independence back after being a prisoner for the last year. My sister thinks she should just sit in her pad for the next 20 years and give up driving. She wraps my parents in cotton wool. I tell them to get out and about and do as much as possible. 🤷‍♂️

Wait while she's reminded what you look like

Have you booked, they will be busy maybe 👀

Another treat for her 🥰

A tuesday afternoon. I'll chance it. Most places are not taking bookings anyway, just telling you to turn up. 🤷‍♂️

Barnard Castle is the place to go apparently 🏰😁

Arrived today and took my mother out for her lunch, then to Waitrose in Hexham for some top cheesecake purchases. 🥰

Mother is going for a haircut tomorrow after lockdown and wouldn't pose with the car for you lot. 😆

Cool little car. For some reason I thought it was metallic grey and it turns out to be a very cool solid grey, which looks like surfacer. Well chuffed when I saw it.

Yummy cheesecakes. 🥴

After seeing what WCP has endured with Shedgate I don’t blame your mum for not wanting to post a picture.....
Not saying her hair is on par with the Shed but they’re an unforgiving bunch of blighters on here.
Car looks good Rob.
