Spotted what looked like a mid-nineties SS or similar whilst I was out on my 1098 heading in the other direction.

That was me Rob. Went for a fast blat up the A65 to Settle before the footie. Wish I hadn't bothered rushing back. I'm based in Menston.

Hi Pete

Thanks for your reply.

Funnily enough I rode home through Menston after a quick fuel stop in Ilkley. I also cut through the edge of Menston on my commute to Leeds (usually by car - I only take the bike one day a week, weather pemitting!)

I was amazed to get a response - was testing it out to see if it really works, so good to hear from you.

Your bike looked good by the way, although I could not hear it for obvious reasons!

Best wishes

Robert

You need to get over here, we have some great roads.

I don't get to Harrogate too often, except for infrequent court hearings on Victoria Avenue, or when skirting it to get to the A1 on my way up to Northumberland. I am still finding plenty of good roads to enjoy around the Aire Valley, although the unmarked Imprezas around Skipton mean that I have to keep the speed down - I can't see a thing in my mirrors!

But Bingley's only 20 miles away! :) The Aire Valley sucks - pedestrians, plod, dual carriageways, etc. That's West Yorks anyway - the real Yorkshire is North. :) Come and join us when you get a minute. First Sunday of the month is my normal organised full rideout day.

Thanks - at least the AIre Valley has a Ducati dealership:lol2:

I will look out for rideout information in due course, but might struggle to join on a Sunday as I have a young family.

I see that you run a MTB shop. Are you also connected to Michael Bonney (Gizmo - this forum's founder) at Orange Mountain Bikes?

If you are on LinkedIn, please feel free to join my new Ducati Riders UK group. Hoping to link up with others and do business together, as well as talking about bikes.

Best wishes

Robert

I know Mike purely through this forum and Ducatis. My shop is a pure independent, I sell a number of ranges of bikes and the peripherals of course as well as servicing and maintenance to all parts of all bikes. We have both MTB and Road Racing rides too. Do you ride? I know the dealership but rarely go there now.
