Recovery of Wayne’s bike

Having read the woes that happened to @WAYNE recently and the financial and logistical issues which confront him with regards to recovering his bike from wherever it is, and, having seen the various offers of financial help pro-offered from some of you, I have, this morning, given Wayne an offer.

I need for you lot please to badger him to make sure he gets off his arse and actually takes up the offer.

I told Wayne the Forum would pull together to help him out.

I asked Wayne to call Ravencroft (or whoever has the bike) and get the total storage bill.

I asked Wayne to find someone, even if it has to be paid for, who can collect the bike and deliver it back home for him.

I told Wayne I would find one of our members who will pay Ravencroft and the bike delivery person directly.

The Forum will then reimburse that volunteer, from the Forum’s funds, their costs less what they would have been prepared to contribute to the ‘Save Wayne’s Bike Fund’.

I will then set up a payment link within the Forum and anyone who wants to contribute to the cause can then make a contribution which will reimburse the Forum account for the funds used to save Wayne’s bike.

So, over to you lot. Badger Wayne into doing what he has to do and I’ll let you all know when the payment link is set up.

From what I remember from years ago (don't ask!) the owner needs to attend with their licence and proof of insurance.

If they are in hospital, that's impossible (maybe someone else can collect with those things?)
I've rang then and they wanted me to email my id with phone number and reg that i have done and i'm waiting for call back. I will pay the amount due and they said it will be delivered back to me today.

Right an update, i have now paid the fee for the release of the Enfield and i'm not saying that for dramatic effect!! It is a ransome but eh shit happens, the driver is going to call me when he's on his way, the catch is today or tomorrow. Anyway when i get the invoice i shall post a picture of it to proove Dick Turpin is alive in spirit, Guinness!!🤷‍♂️

Make sure you get all the invoices mucker, recovery, storage, transport, full terms and conditions from the company, all ready to pass to her insurers.

Right at last the Enfield is back in the garage, on a quick look over, handlebars bent, headlight smashed, brake lever snaped, rear indicators broken, exhaust on the piss!! When i'm fit again i wil get to work on it, headlight is £43 from India, handlebars a tenner, indicators a tenner each, brake lever 8 quid, that's just for starters so not to bad really. No doubt there will be a few bits that will need bending back into position and the tank looks ok. I'll have another look tomorow armed with a notepad and pen.:)

Robbing bastards, Wayne take the opportunity of the community clubbing together paying your debit card, until you get it back from her insurers.

Fucking insane, i swear they make it up as they go along!!

Wayne has now been reimbursed from Forum funds for the £451 he paid to get his bike back from the police pound.

For the time being there is a donation link set up under Account Upgrades - you'll not miss it, it simply says 'Wayne'. The value of the donation is set at £25, the way the interface between the forum software and PayPal works means I have to put in an amount for the payment to be collected, I can't leave it loose.

For those that have said they would donate to help Wayne out in his time of need and to prevent his bike from being scrapped now is your opportunity. You can either donate nothing, donate the £25 once, or should you feel particularly generous or flush donate more than once. We need 18 donations to cover the cost.

If you wish to donate more than £25 and find the system doesn't let you do this send me a DM and I'll see if some other way can be worked out.

To access the payment link click on your avatar (top RH side of the screen, the small image next to your name), then click on 'Account Upgrades' then click on 'Wayne' it will then take you off to PayPal where you can make your payment either from your PayPal account or, if you don't have one, via a debit or credit card.

Thank you for your support of one of our members in his hour, of need.

Where is 'Account Upgrades' please?

WTF? I didn't mean actual cash, I meant digital social credits. Does cash even exist still?
