A9 Latheron area

I never thought i would see Latheron mentioned on here!!

I dont know anyone in the Dunbeath/Latheron area with a Ducati, what were you doing up that area?
 
I live there.... Well, just south of Melvich actually.
We ride all winter so Sunday was a beaut!
A Ducati overtook me so I chased it down but the beast turned off
Somewhere by Latheron.
What's your connection?
 
Im From Dunbeath, i live in East Ayrshire now but all my family all live up in Caithness and im still part of the DRMCC.
Maybe someone has made a new Ducati purchase there then, i will have to ask about to see if anyone has!
 
Hey Baz, I moved here for the roads mainly, I have a multi and a Tuono, thinking about a ZX10 too now..... Do you get up here much?
Where abouts in Ayr are you then?
That stretch of the A9 is pretty awsome, but still wary of the rozzers there. I love it out west, my home blast is Melvich to Bettyhill, its like the 'ring but with sheep and 'wild' road surface.
If you are ever up here PM me and I will give you me mobile number so's we can hook up. If you find out who that guy was, let me know.... It could have been a bloke from Thurso who has just bought a 1098 last year, the guy had blue leathers on and a smoked visor, he braked off pretty quick and I overshot so didnt get a long look.
I dont use this place too much, but will check periodically as per.
 
Yea the roads are great up there (some of the best in Europe) and there never used to be much cops about but as the roads are empty and most people just drive at a decent speed its now easy money for them!!
I had a 55 plate ZX10R bought it new and had it for a few years but had to sell it when i moved to Ayrshire as it was a real licence looser, 130mph wheelies in third off the throttle and a top speed of 198mph it had to go with all the cops about here!!
Im down in Stewarton, East Ayrshire now but i get back up north a few times a year mainly in a car these days though as the family usually comes up with me!

Passed through Stewarton yesterday morning heading for Girdle Toll Irvine to pick up a machine.
